Giles Barrie, Editor of Property Week, is the latest journalist to cross the divide and move into a PR agency. The staff turnover at the leading real estate journals has been noticeable over the last year or so. It’s as though the journalists see the changing of the guard in the industry and think – too much trouble to get to know the new stars: enough is enough. And the real estate press is changing too: no longer the hegemony of Estates Gazette and Property Week when well researched and written alternatives such as Real Estate Capital and Co-Star are now established too. There are some confusing loyalties – do you get the best of Jane Roberts in REC or when she writes guest pieces for Estates Gazette: do you follow James Wallace only on Co-Star or elsewhere too?
