Caroline Philips

The team at Palatium has been greatly saddened to hear of the death of former colleague Caroline Philips.  Caroline was a great colleague and wonderful professional. Banking and bankers have recently become a difficult caricature, but Caroline was the antithesis of that stereotype. She was a woman in a world dominated by men, she was straightforward in a world of spin and she was collegiate in a business notorious for self-interest. She was a pioneer in European Securitisation, responsible for a number of industry innovations and ground breaking transactions. She was enormously respected and relied on by her clients and became an important figure in the industry. Perhaps most significantly she knew how to nurture talent and was an inspiration to younger members of her team. She was also a warm, funny, kind and intelligent person. She will be greatly missed.
